Camera Tips for Beginners
Start shooting in RAW. RAW is a picture format like jpeg or PNG. When you shoot in RAW you get higher quality images and it does not compress the image data. You will be able to fix problems like underexposure more easily.
Try a new perspective. If the shot that you want isn’t working out exactly how you wanted it, try it from a different angle. A different perspective can drastically change the way a photo comes out. Not all angles will work, but it is always worth it to experiment.
Focus on lighting. The right lighting can either make or break a photo. Shooting in the morning or evening will make getting the right photo so much easier.
Always make a plan for your shoot. If there is an area that you want to shoot, make a plan. Will it look better in the morning or evening? Do you want to capture the sunset? What time is it the busiest? Planning out a shoot will not only set you up for success but help you feel more confident and prepared.
Go with the flow. Most of the time we have a picture in our head of the exact shot that we want. Most of the time you won’t get the exact shot that you were looking for, but often times you can get an even better one. Enjoy the experience and take the pictures you want, even if they aren't perfect.
